Our Projects
Sunday Food Bank
Rhema Housing Inc partners with Greater Smith Temple to host a community food bank, providing essential support to those in need. This collaborative effort is open every Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm, offering a vital resource to the local community.
Renewable Energy Power Systems
We recognize the critical role of renewable energy in underserved communities. Our organization is dedicated to supporting the environment through various initiatives, including recycling projects and the implementation of renewable energy power systems.
Macedonia Renovations
We are tirelessly working to rebuild and restore our services following an unforeseen setback caused by a break in the nearby city water utility main.
This incident not only disrupted our transportation services for residents but also rendered our shelter uninhabitable.
Renovations are currently underway, and we aim to reopen on December 30, 2024, ensuring that we can once again provide a safe and supportive environment for those in need.
Credit Counseling
Many individuals face homelessness due to job loss, which makes it challenging to keep up with their bills. Once they find employment again, their ability to secure housing or buy a home in the future can be impacted by their credit history. Our organization provides crucial credit counseling services to address these challenges. We work closely with our clients to help them rebuild their credit history, with the ultimate goal of achieving homeownership if that is their aspiration. Our program is designed to assist individuals in managing their bills effectively and improving their creditworthiness. We understand the importance of stable employment and a positive credit history in securing housing and financial stability.
Young Adult Transitional Living Program
Our Transitional Living Program specifically targets young women ages 16 to 22 who are either in the care of the Division of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) or who have become homeless. The Rhema Transitional Living Program is designed to assist female clients for 18 months, helping them develop skills that lead to self-sufficiency and independence, all while providing a safe living environment.
Youth in the program reside in either a group home or apartment setting where all basic needs are met, including transportation for work, school, and health purposes. This comprehensive approach aims to provide the necessary support and resources to help these young women transition into stable and independent living situations.
